For the first public event at our new location, the Centre for Possible Studies will be hosting a Free Cinema School Salon..
Members of no.w.here collective, Karen Mirza and Brad Butler, are currently in residence at the Centre for Possible Studies with theatre director Frances Rifkin, local activists and the Migrant Resource Centre exploring the relationship between political speech and action.
This screening will look at examples of voice, silence, gesture and authority through a series of film clips assembled by participants of the Direct Speech Acts workshops.
In upcoming Free Cinema School Salons we will be visiting histories of political theatre such as Augusto Boal (Br) and Banner Theatre (UK) and their filmic counterparts.
