Max Neuhaus (born Beaumont, Texas, 1939) began his career as a percussionist and interpreter of contemporary music in the 1960s. He moved on to pioneer artistic activities with sound and his 1968 solo album, recorded for Columbia Masterworks, stands as one of the first examples of what is now called live electronic music. Max Neuhaus discusses his unique sense of sound, as well as his 40 year’s experience as a musician, with the Serpentine Gallery’s Hans Ulrich Obrist, Co-Director, Exhibitions and Programmes and Director of International Projects.
