John Gray is a prominent British philosopher and controversial author. Among his recent books are: Straw Dogs: Thoughts on Humans and Other Animals; Heresies: Against Progress and Other Illusions; Al Qaeda and What It Means To Be Modern; and Black Mass: Apocalyptic Religion and the Death of Utopia. He writes and reviews regularly for The Guardian, The Independent, The Literary Review and The New York Review of Books.
Hari Kunzru was born in 1969 and lives in south-east London. His first novel, The Impressionist was the winner of the Betty Trask Prize 2002 and shortlisted for the Guardian First Book Award and the Whitbread First Novel Award. Hari Kunzru was named one of Granta’s Best of Young British Novelists, 2003. Penguin published his latest novel My Revolutions in 2007.
