Two-Lane Blacktop
1971, 102 mins
Directed by Monte Hellman
This 1971 road movie, noted for its stark footage and minimal dialogue, depicts two speed freaks whose race through America’s southwest becomes a metaphor for their own lives.
Rendezvous (a.k.a. C’etait un rendezvous)
1976, 9 mins
Directed by Claude LeLouch
In 1976, at the end of a film shoot, Claude LeLouch spontaneously filmed a mad dash through the streets of Paris. Denied the necessary permits, he shot the film guerrilla-style, in one take, with no special effects and no street closures.
