Acting Up
2005

The Serpentine Gallery developed a project in collaboration with Action Disability Kensington & Chelsea, Hammersmith & Fulham Action on Disability and Westminster Action Network. Acting Up explored representations of disability through a range of media including film, photography and performance. Disabled artists Lou Birks, Raina Haig, Laurence Harvey Lee Regan, Juliet Robson and Simon Raven worked with disabled people across the three boroughs to develop new work over a series of meetings.
Participants also engaged with the Serpentine’s exhibition programme as well as making work collaboratively and individually. The project culminated in a final exhibition of work both at The Sackler Centre of Arts Education and in and around the Serpentine Gallery building.
